As part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, and under the patronage of the President of the World Islamic Sciences and Education University, Professor Dr. Mohammad Al-Khalaileh, a scientific seminar was held on campus titled:
“The Jordanian Experience in the Inclusion and Care of Persons with Disabilities.”
The seminar featured a number of Arab experiences in supporting and caring for persons with disabilities, highlighting examples from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, alongside inspiring contributions from PhD students.
Dr. Abeer Abu Qatna had a distinguished presence at the seminar, where she shared her personal and heartfelt experience in caring for her son “Abdullah,” who has Autism Spectrum Disorder. She spoke
about the challenges she faced throughout this journey and how she managed to overcome them with determination and knowledge.
Additionally, the visually impaired PhD student Taysir Saleh shared her inspiring story and the challenges she encountered throughout her academic journey.
The seminar served as an important platform for exchanging experiences and shedding light on the importance of support and effective inclusion of persons with disabilities within society.
